Hi my name is Dina, I am wellness activator, holistic expert, empowerment life coach and today I wanted to talk about why is emotional eating present in your life?
Sometimes we turn to food, even when we are not hungry. Emotional eating can lead to consumption of extra calories ๐Ÿคฏ, which we all know can slow us down when it comes to meeting our weight loss goals๐Ÿ˜ฉ!
๐’€๐’Š๐’Œ๐’†๐’”…๐’“๐’Š๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’•?

I know! But donโ€™t worry, I will help you determine if you are falling into the emotional eating trap and give you some alternative actions to help you stay on track.
๐‘บ๐’, ๐’“๐’†๐’‚๐’… ๐’๐’ ๐’”๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’“!
First, letโ€™s talk about what emotional eating is. Emotional eating is when you choose to distract yourself with food instead of dealing with your emotions. Some of the common emotions we try to escape include ๐Ÿคจ stress, ๐Ÿ˜ฆworry, lack, and ๐Ÿ˜ boredom.

Basically, we distract ourselves with food instead of digging into the root issue.
So how do you figure out if you are turning to food instead of dealing with your emotions?
Do you find yourself turning to food when you donโ€™t feel physically hungry?
Perhaps, you have found yourself diving into a tub of ice cream ๐Ÿจ right after you ate a large meal ๐Ÿฅ˜ . You know that you canโ€™t be hungry, but for some reason you canโ€™t help but want to indulge.
If this sounds familiar, you might need to dive into your emotions and see what is causing the emotional eating in the first place.
One of the ways to stop emotional eating is to really be aware of your body and ask yourself if you are physically hungry or if you are trying to deal with something else.
Next time you want to eat a sleeve of Girl Scout cookies, ask yourself if there is something else going on in your life.
๐Ÿ˜ฎ Are you stressed about a project at work? ๐Ÿ“š
๐Ÿฅฐ Are you lacking human connection?
๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ Are you dealing with a rough patch in your relationship?
These types of situations can cause emotional eating. So being aware of your body and feelings can help you take a step back and evaluate if you are hungry ๐Ÿฅ˜ or if you need to address your emotional health.

โœ… You could stop and go for a walk.
โœ… Become aware of feelings
โœ… Practice relaxation exercises
โœ… You could call up a friend you havenโ€™t talked to in a while.

The alternative action to emotional eating might depend on what is causing the emotional distress in the first place.
