If you eat “an apple 🍎 a day” but don’t sleep well you may not be able to keep the doctor 👨‍⚕️ away!
Hi there! 🌹♥️
My name is Dina, I am wellness activator, holistic expert, and 💪🏻 empowerment life coach, and today I want to talk about a common problem that affects millions of people all around the world?
Do you spend most of your night tossing and turning in bed? If yes, you are likely to wake up feeling cranky and tired. But do you know why?
Lack of sleep affects our physical and mental health. Scientists believe that lack of a regular sleep schedule can lead to health issues, such as heart diseases, diabetes, and obesity.
Acquiring good-quality sleep is just like getting exercise and nutrition.
Let’s find out how lack of sleep affects your mental and physical health.

😠
𝘏𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯
If you sleep for less than five or six hours, you are at a higher risk of developing hypertension.
Did you know this?
Since sleep regulates our stress hormones, lack of sleep can trigger stress and puts unnecessary strain on your heart.
Long-term sleep deprivation can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate and inflammation. These symptoms can lead to hypertension.

Continual sleep problems, coupled with poor nutrition, can trigger the production of ghrelin. Since this hormone stimulates appetite, an excess of ghrelin can impact the body’s eating habits and metabolism.
Now you know why you are always hungry when you don’t sleep!
The result is obesity and weight gain. Moreover, if you feel dizzy and tired, you are more likely to choose foods rich in sugar and carbohydrates.

😞

Why do you feel irritable after pulling off an all-nighter? When you have an irregular sleep pattern, you are likely to turn to comfort food. Gulping down endless cups of coffee and salt-laden snacks can dehydrate your body, which makes us irritable and moody.
Yep, that’s right!
That is one of the reasons why panic attacks and anxiety are frequent among people who struggle with sleep disorders.

🧠

Another common side effect of lack of sleep is mental fog and fatigue. That’s because our brain does not get to rest enough, and our cognitive functions decrease drastically. Adequate sleep improves focus and enhances problem-solving skills.
If you are sleep-deprived, get ready to suffer from problems with balance, motor skills, and reflexes.
Five Tips to Improve Sleep

1️⃣
Stick to a Regular Schedule ⏰
Make sure you maintain a sleep routine and follow it every day.
Stick to a timetable even on the weekends, so you don’t feel tired or lethargic during the day. Make it a habit to enjoy a bath or other relaxing activity before retiring to bed. I love using CBD bath bomb 💣 before bed 🛌 , it gives me a great dose of luxury and relaxation you won’t find anything else. I can share my favorite brand with you.

2️⃣
Exercise 🏋🏻‍♀️
Since exercise releases feel-good hormones, it reduces stress and anxiety. If you can’t sleep because you are always over-thinking, don’t skip that gym lesson for calming your thoughts at night.

3️⃣
Avoid Naps 💤
Don’t sleep in the afternoon.

4️⃣
Switch OFF
Do you have a night-light in your room? Switch it on and switch-off your mind. Do not watch TV 📺 before bed and stay away from cellphone for at least 1 h before bed time.

5️⃣
Use Essential Oils
My favorite…Mantra essential oils that offer a wide range of therapeutic benefits.
Bonus: sleep naked! 🙌🏻♥️
Final Thoughts 💭
Long-term sleep deprivation can adversely affect your physical and emotional health. Make sure you sleep for at least eight to nine ⏰hours every day to stay fit and healthy.
